Per the City of Austin Website: Christmas tree recycling couldn’t be any easier! Simply remove the stand and ornaments and place your tree at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on the same day your yard waste and garbage is collected. Do not place your tree in a tree bag. If your tree is more than 6 feet tall, please cut it in half.

Simply remove the stand and ornaments and place your tree at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on the same day your yard waste and garbage is collected. Do not place your tree in a tree bag. If your tree is more than 6 feet tall, please cut it in half.

Christmas trees are collected with your yard trimmings. Both are collected each week throughout the year and will be made into Dillo Dirt and mulch. Mulch will be made available free-of-charge to residents in January.

Please leave about five feet of space between your garbage, your recycling and your yard trimmings.
