Mark your calendars for the MNA's Annual Wine & Cheese Social on Saturday, February 15th. Drop by between 7pm and 10pm for light fare and a selection of wines. If you have a favorite appetizer or bottle, feel free to bring it along, or simply come and enjoy some great company!
Please check your emails for the invitation and RSVP by February 12!
The trees will be delivered this Saturday at about 10am at Mountainview park, so we invite everyone to come out and help. This year, trees will be delivered on the Westerkirk side of the park near the tennis courts instead of the Middlebie cul-de-sac.
If you have a truck or trailer, please consider bringing it to help with deliveries. We will again have hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts and this is a kid-friendly event — it looks like we'll even have some cooler weather this year 😉
Each year, Mountain neighbors help transform the community into a twinkling wonderland with lighted trees in front yards that we've specially arranged in partnership with a local youth group. It's a longtime neighborhood tradition, and it's time to order trees for this year!
Trees are 5- to 6-foot Fraser firs. Trees are $40 each for non-members, $24 for members. It's not too late to apply for membership and get the discount price!
To purchase trees, use our convenient online form or download the paper form (attached). The online form is also used for membership, so please select the appropriate items before checking out.
Every year we celebrate our community by enjoying a family-friendly fall picnic with the fabulous neighbors that help make The Mountain such a great place to live. If you are new to the neighborhood, this is a great opportunity for you and your families to meet your neighbors, some of the neighborhood association board members, enjoy delicious food and beverages, listen to a local band, and find out ways to get involved in future neighborhood events.

The annual MNA picnic will be held at Mountainview Park on October 13th from 4pm-7pm. Bring your family out to the park for a fun evening of food and music while getting a chance to meet new neighbors and reacquaint yourself with those you haven't seen in a while. We will be serving a wide variety of Greek/Mediterranean food prepared under the direction of John Skevofilax. Music will be provided by musician David Massey (tips appreciated, plus he'll be selling CD's).
Barring an emergency, the fire engine & firemen from the Four Iron station will be there about 4pm to answer questions anyone might have on fire safety, and of course allow the kids to get an up-close look at the truck and firefighting equipment. We will also have pumpkin painting for the kids, and everyone is welcome to bring their own balls, Frisbees, kites, etc. for some fun at the park.
Greek to Go
Since we have members within the Mountain Neighborhood who are not able to attend the picnic due to illness, disability, or who are otherwise home bound, we are planning to deliver "Greek to Go" for these families on the evening of the picnic. We were able to reach one of our MNA families last year and would like to add any others who may have similar circumstances. If this service would be beneficial for your family, please contact Deborah Haines at or by phone at 335‐0387 by Thursday, October 11, 2012 so we can verify membership and add you to our list of deliveries. Remember, this is only intended for those who are truly homebound.
