MNA Fall Social 2017

To All Mountain Neighborhood Residents,

Come eat, drink and do a little jig with us!

We are excited to bring another fun-filled Mountain Neighborhood Association (MNA)-sponsored social event for the residents of the Mountain community this year. Please join us for our upcoming Annual Fall Social on Nov 11 2017, from 1-5 PM at the Mountain View Park pavilion.

Similar to “Movie Under the Stars,” this event will be a lot of fun and another great opportunity to meet more of your neighbors and/or reconnect with them. We will be providing a full spread of Mediterranean-themed dishes, including drinks and live music.

This event is open to all Mountain residents.  Food / drinks are complimentary for all MNA members. Visitors and non-member may partake in the food/drinks for a nominal fee of $10 per person. Any new or existing Mountain resident interested in becoming a member can register via the link below or at the MNA Membership Drive table at the event.   Membership to the MNA is voluntary and is $50/family per year.  Please register here to become an MNA member: http://mountainneighborhood.com/join

In closing, please RVSP for the event by Nov 8 so we can get an accurate count for food.  An Evite has been sent to those we have email addresses for so we apologize if we have missed you. If you haven’t received an Evite to the event, please go to http://evite.me/x7xM4tEz2G..

Please feel free to bring folding chairs if you’d like to sit and listen to the live music, including bikes/toys for your children to play with.

Also, we’re seeking 6 helping hands for some easy set up and break-down. If you can offer a helping hand, please email Donna, .

See you at the Fall Social!

Meet With City Councilman Jimmy Flannigan About Anderson Mill’s Road Improvements

We’ve come a long way in our efforts to finally get much delayed safety improvements to Anderson Mill Road (between 183 and 620).  We started by calling 311 to report problem areas, speaking up at District 6 town halls and posting our concerns on the Mobility ATX Forum which included Anderson Mill Road as one of the top 5 traffic concerns in the report this group delivered to the City of Austin in 2016.

And, most important, the City of Austin included over $5 million for improvements to this section of Anderson Mill Rd in the 2016 Mobility Bond proposal which was approved by voters in November.

Now, we have an opportunity to both hear from and provide feedback to city traffic engineers and our District 6 City Councilman, Jimmy Flannigan about plans for spending this bond money.

Please join us at the Anderson Mill Road Public Meeting on Saturday, March 11th from 10 am – noon at Spicewood Elementary School, 11601 Olson Drive.  Invite your neighbors and friends!

Order your Holiday Trees by November 19!

Each year, Mountain neighbors help transform the community into a twinkling wonderland with lighted trees in front yards that we’ve specially arranged in partnership with a local youth group. It’s a longtime neighborhood tradition, and it’s time to order trees for this year!

Trees are 5- to 6-foot Fraser firs. Trees are $40 each for non-members, $24 for members. It’s not too late to apply for membership and get the discount price! The trees will be delivered to your home on Saturday, December 6th.

To purchase trees, use our convenient online form or download the paper form (attached). The online form is also used for membership, so please select the appropriate items before checking out.

2014/2015 MNA Membership

Please update your information and complete your 2014-2015 membership at

http://mountainneighborhood.com/membership/register.php

Annual membership in the MNA is $50 (many homeowner associations have monthly fees that high). Optionally, you can also order Holiday Trees for $24 (members) or $40 (non-members).

Your MNA membership supports the upkeep of our common areas (entrance maintainance), MNA social events, and other capital improvements projects in the neighborhood. Last year, we replanted around the entrance sign, installed drip irrigation to conserve water, and installed solar-powered lighting on our entrance sign. These projects are supported by membership dues and the work of the volunteers throughout the neighborhood.

By becoming a member, you have the option to be included in our neighborhood directory, which can be accessed online, and will be included in the MNA member mailing list to notify you of upcoming events and issues in the neighborhood.
